HICKMAN – Those who have been driving along Hickman Road in Hickman lately have noticed quite a few construction crews working on several different projects.

Hickman City Administrator Silas Clarke said that a new wider sewer line has been installed on the south side of Hickman road replacing the old line and tying in with the existing wider sewer line near the railroad tracks.

“There was a pinch point with our sewer line where we needed to install larger pipe to be able to accommodate our growth and be able to connect with our water treatment plant,” Clarke said.

Starting at Fence Rock Apartments, crews continue to work at paving different sections of the new trail that will run along Hickman Road and connect with the sidewalk at Haven Manor on the east edge of town.

This trail project is expected to be completed in May, Clarke said.
