SYRACUSE – The Good Samaritan Society – Syracuse honored the volunteers, employees, caregivers and leaders that go above and beyond in living out the Good Samaritan Society Way (GSS Way) with the GSS Way Champion Awards.
About the Good Samaritan Society Way: Sharing God’s love in word and deed has been our organization’s mission for nearly a century.
Finding new ways to share that love with those we serve, and with each other, is a daily goal embraced by our employees nationwide. We’ve named our approach for bringing our mission to life.
The Good Samaritan Society Way. As part of this, we’re holding ourselves accountable to live out eight profound traits that Jesus showed us: love, compassion, acceptance, joy, humility, honesty, courage and perseverance.
“When we live out these traits, and see them in others, we can experience life more fully, more lovingly and more meaningfully,” said Jill Ford, resource development and marketing director. “The Good Samaritan Society Way isn’t about being perfect, but because we choose to live more intentionally with love and compassion, it reminds us every day to look beyond ourselves, and to make the world around us a better place.”
GSS Way Champions in all of the Society’s locations are nominated by their peers for embodying the Eight Traits and for doing an exemplary job making all those they work with and serve feel loved, valued and at peace. The Good Samaritan Society – Syracuse has awarded the following four individuals with GSS Way Champion Awards:
Volunteer Champion: Carole Lashley
Employee Champion: Sara Krueger
Caregiver Champion: Brenda Abbott
Leadership Champion: Dianna Epp
The Good Samaritan Society – Syracuse is honored to be filled with people who strive to embody these traits every day. All are invited to stop by for a tour to witness and experience this love.
